Neurotropic Effects in Relation to Chemical Structure.
Abstract
The resolution of 11-dimethylaminomethyl-9,10-ethano-9,10-dihydroanthracene into its enantiomorphs has been effected. The resolution of 11-N-piperidinomethyl-9,10-ethano-9,10-dihydroanthracene is in progress. The preparation of 2-p-hydroxyphenyl-2-p-aminophenylpropane is reported. Attempts to prepare intermediates for the synthesis of 11-aminomethyl-9,10-etheno-9,10-dihydroanthracenes are also described. The resolution of atropine into d- and l-hyocyamine is reported. The acute toxicities of twenty-five compounds prepared in these laboratories were measured. (Author)
