Strains Induced at Ceramic Bicrystal Grain Boundaries.

Abstract

The application of finite element analysis to the problem of a boundary between two different materials has shown a non-uniform distribution of strain near the boundary. A method for measuring the strain in a guage length of micrometers is being developed using an x-ray diffractometer modeled after the technique proposed by W. L. Bond. (Author)
