A Three Dimensional Primative Equation Model for Application to Mesoscale Atmospheric Phenomena.

Abstract

A three dimensional primitive equation model based on the Boussinesq equations is developed and applied to the mesoscale. The model is tested with one dimensional flow in a balanced state and with two cases of gravity waves, which are forecast for 30 minutes and compared with the analytic solutions. (Author)
