Abstract
The 157 species of marine algae collected with the help of S.C.U.B.A. and by dredging are distributed among the three major groups of algae; Rhodophyta, (Red Algae), Phaeophyta (Brown algae), Chlorophyta (Green Algae). The Rhodophyta are more numerous than the brown or green algae in deep water. The group with fewest representatives is the Phaeophyta. Twenty species are reported as first records of collections so far as known. Five species of marine algae will require further study in as much as they may prove to be new species.
