Control of Calcium Absorption: Influence of Vitamin D3 Hydroxylation on the Calcium Binding Activity of Duodenal Mucosa.

Abstract

At the 12.5 dosage level, increased mucosal calcium binding activity was induced in chicks treated with vitamin D3 and 25-hydroxycholecalciferol (25-HCC). However, at a more physiological dose of 2.5 only 25-HCC was effective. (Author)
