The Mean Tropospheric Circulation and Cloudiness Over Southeast Asia and Neighboring Areas,

Abstract

Mean monthly wind analyses for the 3,000 ft, 850 mb, 700 mb, 500 mb, 300 mb, and 200 mb levels are discussed in terms of major features and their change from month to month. The mean monthly cloudiness, compiled from five years of daily meteorological satellite data, and the change in mean cloudiness from month to month are related to the flow patterns and their changes. Longitudinal sections of monthly cloudiness and month-to-month changes in cloudiness are presented for eight selected longitudes between 70E and 140E. (Author)
