Research in Ferromagnetics,

Abstract

The effect of nuclear radiation on domain tip film elements was investigated. Experiments showed that gamma radiation had no affect on magnetic properties or non-volatility of storage devices tested. The causes of failures in domain tip film elements are described and means of eliminating these problems considered. Channels studies concerned with coercivity, fanout, readout, and erase requirements were performed and techniques for evaluating DOT devices were developed. Magnetic shielding was also investigated.
