Space Forecasting Data Association and Display Programs.

Abstract

The Space Forecasting Data Association and Display project is a Research and Development (R + D) effort performed at Air Force Cambridge Research Laboratories (AFCRL) in conjunction with the Air Weather Service. This R + D project is an effort to associate astrogeophysical data and display results of this association in order to enhance the operational capability of the Solar Forecast Center (SFC). The computer programs developed are to be part of a larger system to be executed on a series of Univac 1108 digital computers at Offutt Air Force Base, Omaha, Nebraska. The developed programs associate optically observed data to form Solar Regions and display elements of these regions on various graphs, charts, and listings to be utilized as forecasting aids and as pictorial representations in the Space Forecasting publication.
