On the Asymptotic Behavior of Solutions of the Prandtl Boundary Layer Equations.

Abstract

The Prandtl boundary layer equations for the steady two-dimensional laminar flow of an incompressible viscous fluid past a rigid body are considered. Various estimates on the rate of convergence of u(x, y) approaches U(x) (u approaches infinity) are given (U(x) is the outer velocity). The rate of convergence is essentially determined by the initial velocity. (Author)
