Optimal Control of Elastic Flight Vehicles,

Abstract

A study was made of the optimal control of the rotational and transversal motions of flight vehicles taking into account their torsional and flexural deformations. The equations for the torsional vibrations of the vehicle at high Mach numbers are analyzed. The optimal control of bending deformations is approached by introducing equations for the axial vibrations of the vehicle and determining their boundary conditions. A numerical example illustrating the proposed method is given. (Author)
