Effective Recombination Coefficients in the Lower Ionosphere,

Abstract

Simultaneous measurements of ionizing radiation and electron density during the 1962 nuclear tests yield a profile of the effective recombination coefficient. This can be interpreted in terms of dissociative and ion-ion recombination, electron attachment, and no detachment. Values of the dissociative and ion-ion recombination coefficients are obtained.
