Source Equations in Continuum Electromechanics,

Abstract

It is shown that the non-conservative balance equation for the linear momentum admits, by a proper choice of the source function which is of single prototype form, all the field equations of continuum electromechanics. They are: the Poisson's equations of the gravitational and the electrostatic fields, the four Maxwell equations in their most general form, and also the concept of the Lorentz force. (Author)
