Abstract
The report summarizes the research activities during the entire period of the Grant. During the period September 16, 1966 through August 31, 1968, the general asymptotic properties of extremal polynomials (notably Tchebycheff polynomials and orthogonal polynomials) associated with smooth contours in the plane were studied. During the period September 1, 1968 through August 31, 1970, various questions in analysis were studied, including the existence and uniqueness of one particle physical states, the existence of the total Hamiltonian, positivity for Yukawa interaction, renormalization in scattering theory and classical analysis over infinite dimensional spaces.
