Molybdenum Disulfide: Its Properties and Applications

Abstract

Information is given on the effect of the purity and size of powder particles, of the material and quality of machining of a friction pair, and operating conditions for a friction part (temperature and composition of the surrounding medium, sliding speed, pressure, etc.) on the properties of molybdenum disulfide as a lubricant. The means of introducing the lubricant into the friction zone are described and the regions where it is applied are indicated.
