Battelle Geneve Colloquium on Critical Phenomena - 1970.
Abstract
On 7-12 September 1970, the Battelle Institute sponsored a Colloquium on 'Critical Phenomena' held in Geneva and Gstaad, Switzerland, in honor of Novel Laureate Lars Onsager. The Colloquium was concerned with assessing the contribution of current research in critical phenomena to the science of materials. It undertook to elucidate recent progress in the experimental and theoretical studies of critical phenomena in alloys, magnets, and superconductors; to examine the status of current description of critical phenomena and of the knowledge of transport phenomena in the critical regime; and to suggest fruitful directions for future work.
