Development of a Lightweight, Cable Driven Telescopic Mast.
Abstract
A mast was developed to meet the requirements of Specification SCL-7805 and is basically a revised and improved version of the procurement model Geroh Mast Number 6KBM. The primary objectives of this program were: to increase the erected height of the mast, to maintain the lowest possible weight of the mast system, to assure a long service life without overhaul or repair, and to assure greater personnel safety. The manufacturing procurement drawings have been completed for the entire system. Units have been fabricated and were tested both by independent testing laboratories and military service test facilities. The AB-903/G Mast has now been approved for use in the field by the military.
