On the Observability of Nonlinear Systems with Applications to Nonlinear Regression Analysis.

Abstract

Global inverse function theorems, applicable to the observability question, are presented. Comparisons are made to fixed point theorems and contraction mappings are shown to exist under general conditions. Extensions to the noisy measurement case are made. (Author)
