Investigation of Ultrasonic Nebulization for Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry.

Abstract

An ultrasonic sample nebulizing system for atomic absorption spectrophotometry was assembled following studies which increased appreciation of the limiting factors in powering piezoelectric elements for surface nebulization. In the system, a sample solution is pumped to the vibrating face of a piezoelectric disc and the resulting aerosol is removed by a sweep gas. Nebulization efficiency is relatively independent of the sweep gas flow rate. (Author)
