Compressive Strength of Ship Hull Girders. Part I. Unstiffened Plates.

Abstract

Three problem areas of Hull girder strength are biaxial strength (to account for the transverse membrane loadings induced by the sea), the influence of normal pressure loadings on strength, and the influence on strength of residual stresses induced by welding. Data on solutions to these problems were obtained during this project. (Author)
