Search for Polarization in the X-Ray Emission of the Crab Nebula,

Abstract

The results can best be interpreted as setting an upper limit of 27% on the polarization of the x-ray emission of Taurus X-1 with a 99% confidence level. The present result does not serve to distinguish between synchrotron and other processes suggested for x-ray production in the Crab nebula. (Author)
