The Metallurgy of Titanium

Abstract

The book analyses problems connected with the preparation of titanium-containing raw material for chlorination. The production of titanium tetrachloride, metallothermal methods of producing refining, and smelting titanium are examined. Methods of electrolytic production and refining titanium, the processing of titanium waste and titanium base alloys, and production of pigmentary titanium dioxide from titanium tetrachloride are described. Attention is paid to the properties of titanium and titanium-base alloys and the fields of their utilization.
