Miscellaneous Notes on Crystallography, 1968-70,

Abstract

The report contains three unrelated notes that represent crystallographic work performanced during 1968-70 in support of various projects that have been reported on separately. Part One discusses the reliability of the indexing of x-ray powder patterns and how it can be improved by the use of calculated intensities. Part Two reports an enhanced Renninger effect observed during the x-ray examination of high-purity solid solution crystals of Zr, Hf)O2. Part Three describes a new approach to the computer plotting of stereographic projections, which are widely used in metallurgical and mineralogical investigations. (Author)
