Application of Fourier Techniques to Image Evaluation,

Abstract

The report is one of a series published to document the computerized image-evaluation program called POLYPAGOS. The results of diffraction theory and transfer function theory for an imaging system are summarized, and two algorithms for numerical integration of Fourier integrals are compared. The selection of the grid interval, based on the sampling theorem, is discussed; formulae are given for estimating proper grid size. The report includes tables giving the POLYPAGOS user an idea of the computational accuracy of the OTF value. (Author)
