Statistical Analysis of Atmospheric Processes,

Abstract

An account is given of questions of the statistical analysis of meteorological fields of planetary scale with the help of the method of decomposition with respect to natural functions. Statistical methods are discussed to forecast ten-day and monthly air temperatures by using as predictors heat inflows and extra-atmospheric carriers of information (snow cover, iciness, and others).
