On the Equivalence of Maximum Principle Open Loop Controllers and Caratheodory Feedback Controllers for Time-Delay Systems,

Abstract

The optimal feedback gain matrix derived from the maximum principle for linear time-delay systems with quadratic cost satisfies an integral equation. On the other hand, if the extended Caratheodory lemma is used to solve the same problem, the optimal feedback gains satify a set of partial differential equations. It is shown that the resulting feedback gains are equivalent. (Author)
