Heat Transfer Characteristics of a Row of Air Jets Impinging on the Inside of a Semi-Circular Cylinder,

Abstract

Experimental results of average heat transfer coefficients for a row of air jets impinging on the inside of a semi-cylinder are presented. The variation of the average Nusselt Number with the wide range of Reynolds Numbers are found. Two semi-cylinder concave surfaces with different diameters, four different impinging jet configurations and variable impinging heights were investigated. The effect of introducing solid particles into the cooling air on the heat transfer performance was studied. (Author)
