Ultrasonic Absorption in Polyethylene Oxide,

Abstract

Ultrasonic absorption measurements were made on high molecular weight polyethylene oxide from room temperature to above the melting point and from 3 MHz to 11 MHa. No peak in absorption was found at the melting point because the test frequencies were all too high. The absorption that was measured was found to be directly proportional to the degree of crystallinity and to the first power of the frequency. (Author)
