The Amplitude and Energy of Breaking Kelvin-Helmholtz Waves and Turbulence.

Abstract

In this paper a model of Kelvin-Helmholtz waves has been developed which predicts their maximum amplitude, the mode of breaking, and the resulting turbulent kinetic energy. The model is internally consistent and is in reasonable accord with available observations. (Author)
