Human Factors Evaluation of Submarine Escape: IA. Individual and Group Escape with the British Submarine Escape Immersion Suit and The Steinke Hood under Conditions of Side and Tube Egress

Abstract

The compatibility of the British Mark VII Submarine Escape Immersion Suit (SEIS) with side egress and tube egress United States Navy escape trunk configurations was evaluated. Egress time with the SEIS was compared to that with the Steinke Hood under conditions of individual and group escape (1, 2, and 3 man teams).
