Droplet Evaporation in the Liquid-Vapor Critical Region.

Abstract

A discussion of the development of thermodynamic theory relative to critical point phenomena is presented, and the critical region is defined based upon the anomalous behavior of various physical properties. The behavior in the critical region of certain thermodynamic parameters used extensively in theories that describe the evaporation process is illustrated. Recent data and relevant theories are discussed, and a qualitative description of droplet evaporation is formulated. (Author)
