Liquid-Gas Separation and Containment,

Abstract

The paper considers the separation and containment of a liquid-gas mixture in a closed cyclone separator. A set of performance curves giving the measure of containment as a function of Reynolds number for various separator geometries is presented. Special attention is given to the effect of geometric factors on the development of secondary flows within the separator, and results are presented which give the pressure drop across the separator as a function of Reynolds numbers for various modes of operation.
