Regular Subsets of Arbitrary Semigroups. I. Closure Properties.
Abstract
A preliminary investigation is made of certain fundamental properties of finite state automata with an arbitrary input semigroup. Particular attention is given to admissible closure properties of the set of regular subsets of the input semigroup. (Author)
