The Problems of Estimating Costs of Naval Ships,

Abstract

Problems discussed in the paper are those relating to methodology for estimating costs of new naval vessels at the preliminary design stage. Traditional approaches are discussed and evaluated with the benefit of numerical results. The importance of economic and engineering variables is considered and alternative procedures are proposed for their use. (Author)
