Abstract

The article discusses a whole series of tectonic elements on the southeastern margin of the Caspian Depression. Figure 1 in the text is a map of the tectonics of this region. Emphasis is on the formation, development, and stratigraphy of the system of faults in this region, whose importance is due to the presence of an extensive zone of salt domes, present-day and potential petroleum-producing structures.
