Hypersonic Flows over Lifting Vehicles.

Abstract

A summary of the research studies performed under AFOSR sponsorship for the period September, 1965 through September, 1970 is presented. The general problem areas considered deal with the following topics: (1) hypersonic, low density, viscous-inviscid interactions over various simple geometric shapes, (2) low speed, three-dimensional boundary layer behavior in a corner, (3) subsonic, laminar and turbulent mixing of two-dimensional, axisymmetric, and three-dimensional jets and wakes, and (4) several small scale studies involving advanced facility development, super-orbital satellite, etc. Most of these studies involve both experimental programs and complementary theoretical analyses in those areas where it is feasible.
