Methods of Evaluating the Antiwear and Antiscoring Properties of Lubricants,

Abstract

The collection contains material from a conference on methods of rating the antiscoring and antiwear properties of lubricating materials. The present state of the oil-testing problem is discussed, the results of research on the antifriction effectiveness of various lubricants for various conditions of application are presented, and a new treatment of the lubricating mechanism of oils and solid lubricants is submitted. Machines and techniques for property testing of lubricants are described. (Author)
