Machining Under Conditions of High Static Pressures of Lubricating-Cooling Medium,

Abstract

A description is presented of the results of experimental investigation on the machining method in which a high static pressure was created in the cutting zone. Tests were conducted in drilling small holes 3mm in diameter and 13 mm deep. Lubricating-cooling fluid was fed under pressure from 3 to 50 at. The results show that high static pressure of the fluid results in the reduction of tool wear and improvement of the machined surface finish. (Author)
