The Role of Currents in the Formation of the Pacific Water Layer in the Eastern Part of the Arctic Basin (O Roli Techenii v Formirovanii Prosloiki Tikhookeanskikh Vod v Vostochnoi Chasti Arkticheskogo Basseina),

Abstract

The systematic observations of water temperature, surface and deep currents carried out by the drifting station NP-12 during 1963/64 disclose the existence of warm Pacific layer in the Arctic Ocean. This layer lies between 50m and 150m and extends from the Bering Strait to the North Pole. (Author)
