Some Theoretical Problems in the Formation and Movement of Snow Avalanches,

Abstract

In the present paper an attempt is made to resolve certain questions of the statics and dynamics of snow avalanches on the basis of the data of the existing literature in the field and the analysis of the material accumulated by the author during high altitude expeditions of the Institue of Geophysics of the Academy of Sciences Georgian SSR during the 1948-54 period.
