The Composition of Ichthyofauna of the Gulf of Mexico and Some Problems of Its Origin (Sostav Ikhtiofauny Meksikanskogo Zavliva i Nekotorye Voprosy ee Proiskhozhdeniya),

Abstract

The study is based on Soviet investigations carried out in the Gulf of Mexico from November 1962 to January 1963. Data gathered by USA and Latin America are used for comparisons. The Soviet samples were taken with trawls. Altogether about 150 species belonging to 63 families of fishes were observed. A list of species is attached. (Author)
