On the Accuracy of Current Measurements by the Navigational Method (O Tochnosti Izmereniya Navigatsionnym Sposobom),

Abstract

The records of phasometric radio-interference navigating devices are analyzed with respect to accuracy and compared to dead reckoning results, from which the current vector is determined. The accuracy of current measurements, which depends on the accuracy of observed and calculated values of the ship's course, is appraised, pointing out the advantages and disadvantages of the method.
