The New Cotidal Charts of Semidiurnal Tide Waves - M2 and S2 - for the Australian-Asiatic Seas (Novye Kotidalnye Karty Polusutochnykh Prilivnykh Voln (M2 i S2) Abstralo-Azyatskikh Morei),
Abstract
A new method of investigation and construction of cotidal charts for the Australian-Asiatic Seas is proposed. According to it, the progression of tidal waves in the open sea and their variations in different areas of the sea, dotted and crisscrossed with small and large islands, is taken into consideration. For the construction of cotidal charts in the area, the author suggests the application of the isohypse (contour) method based on hourly sea level forecasts at numerous typical points of the area.
