Research in Burns and Industrial Injuries at the Medical Research Council Unit, Birmingham Accident Hospital,

Abstract

The Burns Research Unit at the Birmingham Accident Hospital is supported by the Medical Research Council to investigate and develop improved therapy for burn injuries. Their antibiotic and fluid therapy regimens are based on continuing evaluation of extensive clinical records which are complete for the last twenty-five years. The research in the Unit focuses on the immunologic aspects of burn wound sepsis and red blood cell responses to thermal injury. (Author)
