A Learning-Behavior Theory: A Basis for Unity in Behavioral-Social Science.

Abstract

A learning-behavior theory is presented in programmatic outline. The theory includes (1) the basic (higher-order) principles of classical and instrumental conditioning, (2) the second-order principles of learning (the S-R mechanisms), and (3) lower-order principles (the logic of behavior theory construction). The article also includes a critical overview of the field of learning and a discussion of the need for unity of science in the study of man. (Author)
