Transmitting and Receiving Television Tubes,

Abstract

As is known, level television technology essentially depends on light-signal and signal-light converts, in other words, on cathode-ray tubes CRT. These instruments determine the most important illumination and several other characteristics of a television device and the possible directions of its use. The development of television can represent a movement upward on the levels of a staircase, moreover transition to the next level becomes possible thanks to the use of new CRT. The image iconoscope created in its time opened the way for artistic television transmissions, the image orthicon made it possible to extend the transmitting camera beyond the limits of the studio, and the appearance of the vidicon opened the era of television reporting and applied television. In exactly the same manner that the creation of kinescopes with a screen of satisfactory sizes facilitated to the greatest degree the accomplishment of broadcast television transmissions in reality, so the indroduction of color television will depend on the technical-economics indexes of color kinescopes.
