Basic Research in Thermionic Energy Conversion.

Abstract

The report presents some of the results of the past years' work in a continuing study of thermionic converters. It is a study of the basic processes in thermionic diodes, and the application of this basic information to the achievement of practical thermionic energy conversion. The studies presented are: Cesium Adsorption measurements; Cesium Adsorption Study Using Ellipsometry and Auger Spectroscopy; Cesium Structure on Tungsten; Cesium Adsorption Theory at Higher Coverages; and Non-Saturation Phenomena in Thermionic Converters Collector Carbon Deposits.
