Pupillary Size Change as Correlated with Mental Activity.

Abstract

An indirect measurement of mental activity was correlated with changes in pupil size during simple multiplication solving. There was also a close correlation between mental activity and the difficulty of the problem. With an increase in difficulty, there was an associated increase in pupil size for correctly answered problems, but an associated decrease in pupil size for wrong replies. (Author)
