A Study of Noise in Rock Strata (Izuchenie Pomekh Vgornykh Porodakh)

Abstract

A study was made of the nature and frequency of noise active in the walls of coal mines. A noise range of 50 to 10,000 hz cvcs investigated. A purpose of study is to research the possibility of employing rock strata as a transmission medium, avoiding the use of metallic communication channels with their inherent limitations.
