The purpose of the present study was to investigate the influences of urbanization, socioeconomic status and personality traits of young college-age men on food preferences. The range of the subjects' food selection and likes were expected to be significantly influenced by the parents' socio-economic status and by the degree of the subjects' urbanization. A primary objective of this study was to formulate an Urbanization Index to measure the degree of urbanization of an individual. (Author)
