Possible Use of Materials Based on Polytetrafluoroethylene for Packing Drilling Pumps,

Abstract

A technique was developed for the mixing of Ftoroplast-4 polytetrafluoroethylene (I) with fillers in a specially designed mixer. The reinforced I exhibited superior thermal conductivity, hardness, compression strength, and wear resistance, whereas its thermal expansion coefficient markedly declined. Reinforced I was used as a sealant for pneumatic compressors and expansion engines operating under high pressures.
